Product Description

Valeraldehyde, alias pentanal, is a colorless liquid. Slightly soluble in water, soluble in ethanol, ether and other organic solvents. Melting point -91.5℃, boiling point 103.7℃, flash point 12.2℃.

Usage

Valeraldehyde is an important organic synthesis intermediate, valeraldehyde hydrogenation of pentanol can be used to produce lubricating oil additives raw material dipentyl phosphate disulfide. Valeric acid generated by oxidation of glutaraldehyde can be used as a raw material for the synthesis of cosmetics and fragrances. In addition, valeric acid can also be synthesized with polyol reaction grease. Valeraldehyde is also the raw material for the synthesis of 2-propyl-1-heptanol (2-PH), which is a good organic solvent and can be used for the production of plasticizers and surfactants.

Storage
