Propioaldehyde

Propionaldehyde is a colorless liquid with irritating odor, boiling point 48℃, melting point -81℃, density 0.798g/cm3.Soluble in water, miscible with alcohol and ether. It has irritating effect on skin, eyes, mouth and nasal mucosa. Propionaldehyde chemical properties are very active, can react with hydrogen to generate propanol, oxidation reaction to generate propionic acid, easy to polymerization and other reactions.

Usage

Propionaldehyde is the main raw material for the production of n-propanol, propionic acid as raw material of antiseptic, dihydroxymethylpropionic acid as raw material of waterborne polyurethane, methyl methacrylate as monomer of organic glass, tris(hydroxymethyl)ethane as raw material of resin, and acetone oxime as raw material of water treatment agent. Propionaldehyde is also the production of polyethylene in the process of polymerization blocking agent, as well as synthetic resins, rubber accelerator and antioxidant, can also be used as antifreeze, lubricant, dehydrating agent. Propionaldehyde is widely used in pharmaceuticals, paints, plastics, spices, rubber, food and feed industries, and is recognized as a basic raw material for fine chemical industry.

160kg/drum, low temperature and airtight storage. Can also be transported by tanker truck.

Storage

Propionaldehyde is easy to oxidize and generate acid, should avoid contact with air, stored under nitrogen protection. Usually use aluminum or stainless steel containers, can also use phenolic resin lined carbon steel containers, according to the provisions of the flammable chemicals storage and transportation.
